While the volunteers from San Diego arrived in Cayman on May 8, the Do Something World campaign has been going strong for months. Cayman leaders and volunteers have been doing service throughout the island. One of the projects took place on Saturday, April 24, when 173 volunteers completed 630 do something hours of service at George Town Hospital.
The hospital has great medical facilities. However, due to budget cuts there have not been resources to do significant landscaping. With the help of the volunteers, they were able to beautify three areas:
1. Healing Garden – landscaping & planting trees
2. Bamboo Garden – landscaping & painting a mural on wall
3. Parking Lot – repainting lines, curbs, landscaping, and planting a flower garden
