[5.10.10] Prison to Primary

From sunrise to sunset, the eight Do Something World teams are scattered throughout Cayman doing service projects. While some of the teams return to the same site each day, others visit a new site each day. On Monday, we caught up with the Prison Ministry, Community Project team, and the Medical ministry. The Prison Ministry shared their testimonies, sang worship, and challenged the inmates during their chapel service at Northward Prison. The Miles Ahead team started their day with praise, prayer, and fellowship with their new friends from Cayman. With over 40 Cayman churches involved in the Do Something World festival, the Miles Ahead team spent Sunday morning worshiping amongst some of the churches that are helping plan the festival. Even though they had just met for the first time, the Miles Ahead team was greeted with a warm smiles, hugs, and even snacks. Feature Story: Worship with the Caymanians

[5.8.10] Miles Ahead staff visit Francis Bodden Girls Home

Miles Ahead staff (Tim Innes, Tim Probasco, Mei Ling Starkey) visited Francis Bodden Girls Home after a recent beautification project. Although closed for renovations after a recent fire, there were able to see the wonderful fruits of 734 hours of volunteer work. On May 1 the site was a beehive of activity when 211 Cayman volunteers, including a significant number of young people, joined together in a service project to clean up and beautify the girls home as part of the Do Something World volunteerism campaign that is currently underway on the island.

[5.7.10] George Town Hospital receives TLC from Volunteers

While the volunteers from San Diego arrived in Cayman on May 8, the Do Something World campaign has been going strong for months. Cayman leaders and volunteers have been doing service throughout the island. One of the projects took place on Saturday, April 24, when 173 volunteers completed 630 do something hours of service at George Town Hospital.

[5.5.10] Two Successful Projects Completed

After completing two very successful Do Something World projects, the beautification of Georgetown Hospital and Francis Bodden Home for Girls, we’re happy to report the participation of hundreds of volunteers and almost fifteen hundred hours donated.
